Sustainability
The Arkeras gown is a sustainable open-back hospital gown made in small batches from high-end, easy-care, eco-friendly fabrics. Our aim through and through is to leave things better than we found them, be it our planet or its inhabitants. It is an ongoing process.
At Arkeras, we are committed to the concept of slow fashion: from inception through to sourcing, production, and user testing, we take our time to ensure our products are as gentle to the environment as they are to those who wear them. And we are dedicated to only working with like-minded collaborators.
Our Linen is 100% European-sourced Linen, dyed in the United States.
Our Modal fabric is Certified Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 for TENCEL™ Modal, derived from sustainable wood sources in Austria.
Our Cotton fabric is a blend of Organic Cotton and Certified Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 for TENCEL™ Lyocell, derived from sustainable wood sources in Austria.
Our gowns are manufactured in small batches at a family-owned factory in Los Angeles sewn by skilled workers making a living wage in a safe working environment.
Arkeras gowns ship in 100% recycled packaging, with an emphasis on minimizing plastics whenever possible. We partner with companies that specialize in eco-friendly materials, FSC (forest stewardship council)-certified papers, acid free papers, and soy-based inks.
