Product Uses
Yes! But not all hospital gowns are considered adaptive clothing. Because the Arkeras gown is a garment with easy access features, it is considered a type of adaptive clothing for seniors, for stroke patients, and as wheelchair adaptive clothing. At Arkeras, we are currently focusing on women’s adaptive clothing, yet continue to add to our line as we identify further needs.
The terms “medical gown” and “patient gown” are sometimes used interchangeably. However, we consider the Arkeras gown to be a patient gown: cloth patient exam gowns and gowns used for hospital patients. Medical gowns are typically what one would use to describe what a doctor or nurse wears, especially while performing surgery.
Yes! Many people opt to bring their own robe for a hospital stay or even for an examination. The cloth patient exam gowns offered in a medical setting are often ill-fitting and uncomfortable. Bringing your own patient gown can be empowering plus it's assuring that you are the only person ever to wear this special garment. Check with the facility first, but you should be able to don your Arkeras gown for any non-surgical experience. Our patient gown is a lovely “bring your own gown” option for time spent pre- and post-surgery.
An Arkeras gown can be used in a wide range of settings. It is a hospital patient gown that also works as a gown for nursing home patients, maternity and delivery, home and hospice care, chemo and cancer treatments and mammograms as well as in spa environments. It is an easy-fit gown with accessibility features so there is no need for a patient to disrobe during an examination. It is styled to keep its wearer looking and feeling her best during life’s milestone moments.
Yes, our soft and sustainable patient gown can be used during all stages of maternity—from pregnancy to delivery, and beyond! Its loose easy fit adapts to a woman’s changing body over the months. Its open-back design feature makes it especially useful as a delivery robe, and the dual chest zippers are perfectly placed for nursing making it an ideal nursing gown, keeping both mom and babe cozy in the soft surroundings of this beautiful hospital gown.
Yes. We literally have you covered! The most universally beneficial feature of an Arkeras patient gown is the full coverage on the back side. Patients can go from a seated to standing position in a wheelchair, as seen in our gait belt video here, while maintaining back coverage. The wearer of an Arkeras gown can enjoy its features while in and out of a wheelchair as much as from in and out of a hospital bed or other setting.
